{"id":600,"date":"2009-10-29T16:34:38","date_gmt":"2009-10-30T00:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=600"},"modified":"2009-10-29T16:34:38","modified_gmt":"2009-10-30T00:34:38","slug":"chicken-manchurian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/chicken-manchurian\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Manchurian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>For making the chicken marinade:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boneless chicken &#8211; 3\/4 lb (cut into 1 1\/2 inch length thin strips.)<\/li>\n<li>All purpose flour or maida &#8211; 3 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger Garlic Paste &#8211; 2 &#8211; 3 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Ajinomoto &#8211; 1\/2 tsp(optional)<\/li>\n<li>Soya Sauce &#8211; 1\/2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Chili sauce &#8211; 1 tsp (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil For deep frying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>For making the sauce:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ginger, finely chopped 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Garlic, finely chopped 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Green chillies,finely chopped 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Spring onions &#8211; finely chopped &#8211; 5 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Soya sauce &#8211; 1\/4 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Chili sauce &#8211; 1\/2 tsp (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Tomato sauce\/ketchup &#8211; 1 tbsp (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Black Pepper powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Sugar &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Ajinomoto &#8211; a pinch(optional)<\/li>\n<li>Chicken stock &#8211; 1\/4 cup (or can use Maggi\/Knorr Chicken Soup Cubes)<\/li>\n<li>Maida\/All-purpose flour with water (mix 3 tbsp of maida &amp; 1\/4 cup of water)<\/li>\n<li>Oil 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt To taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nCombine all the ingredients for the marinade (except oil) and set aside for 1\/2 &#8211; 1 hour. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Deep fry the chicken pieces a few at a time. Drain when golden brown and cooked.?  Keep aside.<\/p>\n<p>In another pan, heat oil, and then add the chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and finally some spring onion and saute for a minute. Add the soya sauce, chili sauce\/tomato sauce, pepper, sugar, ajinomoto, stock and salt. Add little water and bring to a boil. Add the fried chicken and cook for 3 minutes. Then add the maida and water mixture and stir  so that no lumps are formed.
