{"id":523,"date":"2009-10-26T12:13:46","date_gmt":"2009-10-26T20:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=523"},"modified":"2009-10-27T03:31:10","modified_gmt":"2009-10-27T11:31:10","slug":"milagu-kozhambu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/milagu-kozhambu\/","title":{"rendered":"Milagu Kozhambu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Onions &#8211; 1 (medium) chopped<\/li>\n<li>Black Pepper &#8211; 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Cumin Seeds &#8211; 1 tsp (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Coriander seeds &#8211; 1\/2 tsp (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Garlic &#8211; 4 cloves (small) &#8211; chopped roughly<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves &#8211; a few<\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Chilli coriander powder &#8211; 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Tamarind paste &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Oil &#8211; 2 tbsps<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nHeat about 1\/2 tsp of oil, and fry black pepper, cumin and coriander seeds. Grind the fried contents to a coarse mix and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>In a pan, heat the rest of the oil, splutter mustard seeds. Add the onions, garlic and curry leaves and saute for a while. Add the ground contents, chilli, coriander, turmeric powders and salt to the mix along with some water and bring to a boil. Then add the tamarind paste and allow to boil. Allow the oil to come out on top.
