{"id":341,"date":"2009-10-24T04:11:24","date_gmt":"2009-10-24T12:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=341"},"modified":"2009-10-24T04:11:24","modified_gmt":"2009-10-24T12:11:24","slug":"plaintain-flower-channa-dal-fry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/plaintain-flower-channa-dal-fry\/","title":{"rendered":"Plaintain flower Channa Dal Fry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plaintain flower &#8211; 1 medium size<\/li>\n<li>Gram Dal (Channa dal) &#8211; 1\/4 cup<\/li>\n<li>turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder &#8211; 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Coriander powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Ginger-garlic paste &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Oil &#8211; 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt &#8211; to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nRemove the outer cover of the plaintain flower, and pull a bunch of the florets out. Pull out of each of them the stamens and a little transparent covering at the bottom. Repeat these for all the florets in the flower. Then group a bunch of the florets and cut them into 1\/4 inch size pieces. Rinse the diced florets in water and set aside. In a large vessel, add the diced florets, turmeric powder, salt, chilli, coriander powders, gram dal and ginger garlic paste with about 1\/2 cup of water and pressure cook.<\/p>\n<p>In a pan, heat oil and then add the pressure cooked contents and fry well till all the water is drained and oil starts to come out on top\/sides.
