{"id":296,"date":"2009-10-23T04:28:21","date_gmt":"2009-10-23T12:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=296"},"modified":"2009-10-27T04:00:53","modified_gmt":"2009-10-27T12:00:53","slug":"adai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/adai\/","title":{"rendered":"Adai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rice &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Toor Dal &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Urad Dal &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li>Gram Dal &#8211; 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Moong Dal &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li>Red Chillies &#8211; 6<\/li>\n<li>Green Chillies &#8211; 2 chopped finely<\/li>\n<li>Onions &#8211; 1 big chopped finely<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves &#8211; few<\/li>\n<li>Asafoetida &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nSoak the dals and rice in water for about 4-5 hours. Grind them with red chillies, asafoetida and salt adding water to get a medium thick batter consistency. Add in the chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves and mix well.<\/p>\n<p>Smear oil on a tawa\/flat pan, and pour about 8 tbsp of batter and spread to make a round shape. Pour a little oil on the sides to make it crispy. Cook on one side, when done, turn over and cook the other side.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with chutneys, sambhar or butter or can be taken plain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients: Rice &#8211;
