{"id":173,"date":"2009-10-21T20:59:52","date_gmt":"2009-10-22T04:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=173"},"modified":"2009-10-21T21:35:54","modified_gmt":"2009-10-22T05:35:54","slug":"prawn-kozhambu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/prawn-kozhambu\/","title":{"rendered":"Prawn Kozhambu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shrimps\/Prawns &#8211; 1\/2 lb peeled, deveined and cleaned<\/li>\n<li>Onions &#8211; 1 medium (chopped fine)<\/li>\n<li>Tomatoes &#8211; 1 small (chopped)<\/li>\n<li>Garlic &#8211; 3-4 cloves chopped finely<\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder &#8211; 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Coriander powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Tamarind paste &#8211; 1\/4 &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt &#8211; to taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves &#8211; few<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nIn a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds and then add the onions and chopped garlic. Saute for a while. Then, add the curry leaves and the shrimp (can pre cook the shrimp earlier or can add raw) and saute for a while. Then, add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Fry this mixture for a while maybe adding a little bit of water.?  Mix well, cover and allow the shrimp to cook. When the mixture slightly begins to thicken (oil will come out to the top), add the tamarind paste and some water and bring to a boil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miscellaneous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tips: Goes well with rice, idli\/dosas.<\/li>\n<li>Serves 4-5<\/li>\n<li>Cooking Time: 20 min<\/li>\n<li>Cuisine: Indian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients: Shrimps\/Prawns &#8211;
