{"id":127,"date":"2009-10-21T16:39:55","date_gmt":"2009-10-22T00:39:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thezeal.com\/cooking\/?p=127"},"modified":"2009-10-21T18:01:53","modified_gmt":"2009-10-22T02:01:53","slug":"mutton-keema-vadai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kaizen.ist\/cooking\/mutton-keema-vadai\/","title":{"rendered":"Mutton Keema Vadai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mutton (minced) &#8211; 1.5 lb cut into medium sized pieces<\/li>\n<li>Onions &#8211; 2 medium (chopped finely)<\/li>\n<li>Green Chillies &#8211; 2 big chopped<\/li>\n<li>Ginger &#8211; 1\/4 inch chopped<\/li>\n<li>Garlic &#8211; 4 cloves finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>Fried Gram flour\/Pottu kadalai flour &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Chilli powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Coriander powder &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Saunf &#8211; 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Garam masala items &#8211; 1 tsp (cloves &#8211; 1, cinnamon stick &#8211; 1, bay leaf &#8211; 1)<\/li>\n<li>Salt &#8211; to taste<\/li>\n<li>Oil &#8211; for deep frying<\/li>\n<li>Coriander leaves(Cilantro).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blanch the minced mutton in water for a while. Then when it has cooled a bit, grind it with ginger, saunf, half the green chillies and set aside. Can add a little water to allow for proper grinding but be careful not to pour much. Remove from blender and mix this with salt, little turmeric, chilli, coriander powder, gram flour and chopped onions, garlic, and green chillies. Mix really well &#8211; should have a dough like consistency. Make small lemon sized balls out of this and flatten each of them like a thick patty and deep fry them in hot oil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miscellaneous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tips: Serve as an appetizer or serve as a side dish with rice.<\/li>\n<li>Serves 4-5<\/li>\n<li>Cooking Time: 25 min<\/li>\n<li>Cuisine: Indian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients: Mutton (minced) &#8211;
